Purpose of This Role

The Director Sales & Retail Media Monetization plays a key role in creating a new multi-billion advertising opportunity in airport and retail mediaThe position holder owns revenue growth, drives global advertising partnerships, and builds a scalable sales operation that monetizes the company’s unique media assets. This role requires deep knowledge of ad platforms, DOOH, and programmatic, as well as the ability to close high-value deals with global brands and agencies. The Director Sales & Retail Media Monetization reports to the SVP Advertising and Commercialization and is based in Berlin, DE, with the expectation to transition from remote to a hybrid model.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own and scale ad sales across DOOH, programmatic, retail media, and multi-channel advertising
  • Develop high-value brand partnerships with endemic (beauty, liquor, fashion) and non-endemic (finance, travel, tech) advertisers
  • Lead high-performing sales teams and drive execution across regional retail media and agency partners
  • Optimize revenue models by integrating direct IO, self-service DSPs, and programmatic monetization
  • Co-sell with Category Management to secure long-term advertising budgets from suppliers

Your Profile

  • 10+ years in advertising sales, retail media, adtech, or programmatic
  • Proven track record of closing €10M+ media deals
  • Deep knowledge of retail media, ad exchanges, and brand sales
  • Ability to build and scale high-performing ad sales teams globally
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written; additional language is an asset
